At the intersection of human and artificial intelligence and the links of the body with chips and new technologies.
like those presented by Elon Musk’s Neuralink.

Human-machine hybrids and the physical merge with electronic circuitry (Clark, 2003) bring significant results about human and machine interaction. The interaction of artificial machinery with human organism and body interpreting electrical signals and sending feedback to the brain aim to heal neurological conditions or clinical disorders. The use of technology in the body to regulate specific bodily functions is the proper manner to reach closer to the algorithms and programs which have the potential to work and change the information in the neurons through intelligent systems and brain-machine interfaces, connected with the human body and organism.

Many successful examples by joining theoretical and practical insights from medicine, A.I, and the theory of electronics are already used to implant, or integrate devices, connected with the brainstem, the nervous system, and the circulatory system, changing the frequency of information and stimulating specific layers. Most of the time used electrodes and the cybernetic theory regarding the design of the function of the system.

In a similar manner A.I Psychotherapy using concepts by robotics, neuroscience, and information processing provides the ground to understand how the link between artificial and human intelligence will be reached practically.

It’s theory is focused on the cognitive processing of the information as they manifest in all the systems and neurophysiological structures of human organism. Approaching again the disorders classified by the DSM joining clinical theory and the relevant scientific principles by neuroscience, cognitive science, and psychiatry it is explained how A.I and psychotherapy are applied to treat mental disorders.

How the interface of A.I Psychotherapy and code becomes possible

In order to reflect in a programming language or a formal language exactly what with natural language is expressed, and define the tasks we want the program to implement, we must have the potential to transfer in the formal language, or the programming language, the meaning of the natural language, as well as, the tasks that must become code, or be represented by a formal language.

The easier and more secure way is following the steps that a machine or programmers usually follow. The tools that often used are charts that are part of the translation of the natural language in a language that the system uses to represent and analyze information, in a reasonable manner. A programmer may use the construction of an algorithm to represent the problem that is described in natural language based on specific steps and using conditions to check each step.

A computer similarly with an automaton performs computations based on the formal language and runs the algorithm, or the program, to check if they meet the standards of logic. The programmer is responsible after receiving the program, in a formal language, to follow the translation of the program in code.

On the strong potential of programs and algorithms to support the conscious mind against the unconscious material

The existing programming languages and object-oriented programming allow us to use them as tools for expanding the reasoning ability. If the reasoning is but reckoning according to Hobbes, we have the potential to use reason according to the way that a formal system uses to compute following specific rules, symbols, and axioms.

The computer languages are based on the potential for computation according to the rules of the language, the grammar, and the desired output. Thus, all of them may be used as a tool not only for data mining but also for building programs that can provide the link among the divided layers of human knowledge.

Artificial consciousness may be supported by programs that define the role of human consciousness bringing to the program stored data about the properties of emotions, conscious states, and ethical behaviors. The problem of emotions and the belief that a machine or an artificial network are not capable to feel, due to their material substance, are possible to be resolved by defining classes with the characteristics of emotions, and functions comparing with the characteristics of the data for decision-making.

The study of senses through a complete analysis that advances consciousness, mind, and cognition

The goal of the A.I Psychotherapy project as it is interpreted in detail within the series of books “The Psychotherapy of Whole: Aesthetics, Philosophy, Humanism, and Cognitive Science” is to outline future research in Cognitive Science and neuroscience. Concepts analyzed by A.I philosophers like Dreyfus, Sloman (1978), Minsky (2006), Haugeland (1997), McCarthy (1972), Franklin (1995) and elements by the applications of logic as they have been applied for developing computations in the interdisciplinary area, linked with embodiment, and mental representations, breaking the narrow models that present thought and consciousness as completely split, encapsulated, and narrow defined (see: Clark, 1998, 2008, 2016).

Perception is determined through the adaption of cognitive functions in the environment, while the frames of the natural world shaped correspondingly by the activity of mind and cerebrum and their phenomenological manifestation in the biological dimension. According to the above, the study presents the continuum of phenomena as they have been discovered from the findings at the interstices of neuroscience, computational study, and cognitive philosophy.

Through the A.I Psychotherapy model answered questions that have to do with the development of a united model that is in agreement with the modern neuroscience shift to a mind-body view, and the inclination to expanded models of perception improving the information processing at senses. Additionally are discussed significant scientific insights that apply in the current knowledge about the brain mechanisms, the neurophysiological structures, and their function according to the neuroscience principles (Damasio, 1994, 2010).

A.I Psychotherapy addresses issues that concern the advancement of the function of attention, awareness, and of many neurobiological mechanisms. It explains how the intentional cognitive representations are responsible for the evolution in brain structures and developmental processes related to mental functions, memory, vision, language, and reasoning. Work that is fundamental in the area of the extended mind, like the complete work of Professor Andy Clark, is a basic source of building such a thesis. Additionally, research on embodiment (Varela, Thompson & Rosh 1993), Haugeland’s (1998,2017) philosophical analysis in the phenomenology of mind, and human/artificial consciousness studies like those presented by Chalmers, Searle (1992), Dennet (1981), are examples of proper sources and the theoretical basis of this project. Thus, according to this theoretical framework, neuroscience, robotics, and traditional themes in consciousness research are linked with the philosophical reason and the recent scientific research.

A.I Psychotherapy: Present research and future outcomes of the first complete A.I Psychotherapy model and its contribution to many academic areas.

The topics of the research consider the general schemes in cognitive and computational neuroscience integrating brain anatomy study, concepts by psychophysics, and brain imaging to focus on the interactions of the intentional behavioral activity, the effects of all the systems in the electrophysiology and biochemistry of networks, and the data analysis of the procedures and tasks that take place in crucial anatomical structures and substructures. The purpose is to analyze how state-of-the-art cognitive/A.I technologies, and research subjects from the field of the philosophy of cognitive science and robotics (including an analysis of the role of mind as virtual machine, the cognitive architectures, symbol manipulation, computational theories, Strong-Weak A.I, A-Life, and artificial consciousness), are essential to understand perception, elaborating on the neuroscience study with the utilization of existing research by human and machine intelligence (Haugeland, 1989; Boden, 1996; Chella, Cangelosi, Metta, & Bringsjord, 2007).

The association of the patterns of knowledge within all the domains engaged are based on the metacognitive theory and the development of a logic metaprogram presenting its applications in all the areas (macro-&micro-). For the analysis, many current references on the existing cognitive models are considered (e.g., see: Rumelhart, McClelland, 1986; Siewiorek, Bell, Newell, 1982). Into the bargain, part of the above study is devoted to the nano-levels and nanotechnology, analyzing the usefulness of the thesis for the development of promising technologies and implants.

The objectives of the survey include the study of the analogies among the physical level in the humans and the hardware/software level in machines explaining topics on the electrical phenomena, signal processing, and information manipulation as they take place in the patterns of physiological mechanisms. New models are discovered, and the existing models are redefined to specify the role of interdisciplinary approaches discovering areas of the cognitive phenomenology and its manifestation in the physical level in humans, and animals, making further comparisons with the hardware level in machines (see: Dennet, 1998; Clark, 2001).
The project’s output is also crucial for the understanding of plasticity and the association of many existing split cognitive structures that affect the development of neural networks and vital neurophysiological mechanisms.

Code and A.I Psychotherapy

  • HOW DO YOU FEEL RIGHT NOW?
  •
WHAT YOUR BODY SAYS ABOUT YOUR THOUGHTS?
  • WHAT ARE YOUR BELIEFS ABOUT THE PROBLEM THAT YOU DESCRIBE?
  • DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE ONLY YOUR MIND?
  • WHY YOU DO NOT MOVE YOUR BODY AND FACE WHILE SPEAKING?

The above questions are based on inquiries that one may meet in Gestalt psychotherapy where the way that someone uses their senses and perception is reflected in the body and their thoughts in the present moment. However what also interests a programmer that builds programs which simulate the therapist’s thought is the type of variables (int, double, etc.), the storage in memory, and the values assigned. The computer after reading a program executes it, based on the commands that the programmer gives. Thus, the “cout<<” in the program must always include computation based on algorithms that represent the information at a symbolic level replying to the client in a precise manner.

The linguistic patterns of persons diagnosed with psychotic, neurotic, or schizophrenic symptoms and healing with the A.I model

What Cognitive Science and A.I offer is the conception of social reality in a new manner that gives a chance to the person to build a theory of mind held by reasonable arguments, scientific principles, and developing representations, which emanate from reason.
The gap that is usually found in the linguistic patterns of a psychotic, neurotic, or schizophrenic person correlates with the denial to follow the rules of the syntax and grammar. They lack the ability to build a theory of mind and learn the potential uses of syntax and morphology to acquire a substantial capacity to reason.

A.I can offer the background of supporting all the senses that in the mental disorders are presented fragmented, with the robust theories of computability, aiding the person to discover how the filtering of reality has substantial consequences in the form of different layers.

We could say for people with many personalities and behaviors that typically fall under the category of personality disorders that a loss of contact with the consciousness and the sense of self take place. The loss of connection with consciousness gateway is not random, and it affects the mapping and the embodied filtering of social reality.

Manic-Depressive disorder / Bipolar disorder

Many people diagnosed with a Manic-Depressive disorder or Bipolar disorder.

The psychotherapy can teach the person, how to avoid the extremes of mania and depression, and start living a balanced life, posing limits to their unconscious behavior and acquiring self-knowledge about self-destructing actions that the persons deny setting in danger their body and many areas of their life.

Undoubtedly this process may be combined with medication or therapies that enhance the ability of a person to avoid the polarization.

A.I Psychotherapy as a solution to this disorder recommends acquiring balance and a better understanding of the consequences of the manic or depressive episodes to the life of the person. This will assist the person to change the behaviors and the wrong cognitive schemas that cause the disorder and the polarization in their everyday life. The awareness about the embodied mind will assist the individual to have better contact with their bodily self, acknowledging the times that their feelings drive them to behaviors that are not balanced, or considered extreme and harmful.

Methodology and Data analysis regards the research strategies employed in A.I Psychotherapy

In A.I Psychotherapy the different types of data and information as they develop in the behavioral, sensory, cognitive, and biological systems are classified, defining the required tools and strategies to organize the results with the use of contemporary methodology by A.I, robotics, and neuroscience.

One of the contributions has to do with the familiarization with the methodology to conduct advanced scientific research among information theory, neuroscience, and humanities, also explaining the strategies of employing a united, embodied, and extended theory of mind and perception. The focus has to do with the application of many scientific tools bridging the disciplines and areas involved, presenting cognition and computational methods according to a view that considers the cerebrum phenomenology interrelated with consciousness, awareness, and attention.

An analysis of many existing algorithms, programs, and viewpoints as regards the mechanical mind from the current scientific literature in cognition, computer engineering, and neuroscience is implemented, connecting the current knowledge with the project hypothesis. It is outlined the scientific literature concerned with the ways that the use of code gives useful outputs for the study of perception, senses, and biochemical processes. A central idea is the utilization of computer engineering literature to interpret common patterns about perception and the sense of self, as investigated by neuroscience, information science, and engineering. In the research of Professor Douglas Hofstadter (1979), it can be found examples of a solid methodological background to investigate the patterns among the fields surveyed using advanced and highly intellectual scientific methodology.
